Growing up... as a teenager, I consumed lots of data from baby boomers, great learning, lots of wisdom and yet I also acquired all of their fears.
When it comes to money, saving/investing, baby boomers are all about gold and how a great safe-haven it is, a great asset, how it is great money, how it is a great investment so on and so forth... I agreed.
I agreed and always wanted to get my hands on some gold as a form of investment, as a way to build wealth and to protect wealth that I did not have... But it wasn't possible.
Huge limitations.
You cannot buy physical gold without going through huge hurdles; government limitations.
Then if you wanted to invest you had a to pay a minimum that was out of the question and more filters in the form of fees and paperwork.
On top of that you wouldn't receive any gold just a receipt so you weren't really getting anything different compared to a stock or any other paper contract.
I put my dream aside and thought, well, in the future I will have the means to buy it. There will be ways for me to do so once I have money.
Fast forward many years and the need for gold has disappeared.
I still wanted to safe money, build wealth, diversify and have access to hard/sound money, yet the need was no more.
Introduce Bitcoin.
Without even thinking about it, without having to decide or make a choice, Bitcoin replaced what attracted me towards gold.
I still wanted to have access to gold for all the same initial reasons but the need was there no more.
I guess this can happen to many other youths...
I guess it is already happening and while we have the utmost respect for gold and the baby boomers, we are moving to Bitcoin because that's the only type of money that the common people, poor people, people coming from nothing can buy, accumulate and store.
In time, Bitcoin will grow...
Gold? Silver, Platinum, Diamonds... Metals, minerals... Money has evolved.
