Gold began to rebound on January 3, breaking through the 2630 line at the opening of the Asian session, and then breaking through the recent resistance of 2640 in the European session. After some adjustments, the short position was abandoned. During the US trading session, the price of gold continued to hit new highs, and the highest point of this wave was around 2665.

2024 is over, and there is no doubt that the bullish momentum of gold is strong in early 2025.
The market is not afraid of the impact of a strong dollar, which shows that the internal logic has changed, especially the fundamentals are significantly different from before.

It is worth noting that the US dollar index is currently at a stage high. Once these risk events are implemented, the possibility of a lower US dollar cannot be ruled out, which may boost gold prices to a certain extent.

It will still maintain a strong momentum in 2025. I personally think that there is no possibility of a sharp decline in at least the first and second quarters. In terms of fundamentals, in addition to the US non-farm payrolls data next week, the 20th is the day when Trump takes office. A series of policies will be implemented, which will definitely trigger global heated discussions. The Fed’s interest rate decision will be made on the 30th of the month.

Operation idea: low-level long idea

Buy: 2630-2640 (long at the low point of this range)

Stop loss: 2615-2620 (set a stop loss in this range)

TP1: 2645

TP2: 2650

TP3: 2660

TP4: 2665

Intraday operation, after gold strongly breaks through the daily line and closes positively, it is needless to say to maintain a firm long idea. Refer to the gold 2635-2645 area, defend 2635, and target 2660-65 area. Don't chase it when it approaches 2665. This is the opening position in the early stage. If it breaks through 2665 strongly, it will continue to rise after falling back.
