XAUUSD: Entry sell? Perfect entry!
Risk sentiment remained subdued ahead of the critical debt-ceiling meeting between US President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Monday. The safe-haven demand for the US Dollar increased after the weekend phone call between the two leaders ended without any conclusion, causing gold prices to slip at the beginning of the week. Additionally, hawkish remarks by regional Federal Reserve policymakers boosted the US Dollar, leading to expectations that the Fed may keep rates higher for longer. This Fedspeak helped the Greenback recover from the decline triggered by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's dovish speech.
