Please see the notes on the chart. Something I did not mention in the chart - 50 and 100 period EMA is a really good trend following system that works most of the time. If the reversal in the direction is a crash, this indicator may give a delayed sell signal. However, if the reversal is after a consolidation or a slow reversal, it works pretty well, just like in the case of Crude Oil.
