In 1995 I was graduating high school while Amazon and Ebay were just getting started as companies on this thing called the World Wide Web. For this reason, I nickname them the og’s (original gangsters). A whole lot has happened since then as AMZN went from $1.50 / share to a current $3272 for a whopping 218,033%. And EBAY .50 cents / share to a current $55.83 for a not too shabby 11,066%.
Anyhow, back to 2020 ytd comparison AMZN vs EBAY, interestingly it looks like a stalemate so far. Although these companies only have online marketplace in common nowadays, but nothing else, I would have to say, in my opinion, EBAY is a better investment than AMZN at this entry point. EBAY has a P/E = 8 1/2 while AMZN is P/E = 126. So therefore, on a fundamental basis EBAY has much more room to grow going into 2021. Good luck and happy trading friends...
