UWM Holdings Corporation UWMC, formerly Gores Holdings IV, has agreed to settle $6.25 million with investors to resolve claims that the company misled shareholders about its financial performance and underwriting practices following its 2021 SPAC merger.

Following Gores Holdings IV's merger with United Wholesale Mortgage in January 2021, investors alleged that the company overstated its growth prospects and downplayed risks associated with its wholesale mortgage business. When disappointing results and competitive pressures emerged, UWMC's price fell, and shareholders filed suit. UWM has now agreed to settle without admitting wrongdoing.
