That means transactions are trustlessly recorded on Optimism but ultimately secured on Ethereum.Optimism is one of the biggest scaling solutions for Ethereum with over $300 million in TVL.

Optimism has announced its second airdrop – 11.7M tokens (worth around 28.5M) were distributed to over 300,000 unique addresses. Airdrop #2 has been distributed to addresses that have delegated the voting power of their tokens, and those that spent more than $6.10 on L2 gas on Optimism Mainnet since March 25th, 2022. This airdrop #2 distributes around 0.27% of total supply. 13.73% of the total supply (or 590M ) remains for future airdrops.

Optimism OP, a L2 network built on Ethereum, has announced the third round of RetroPGF ecosystem program. RetroPGF round 3 will distribute 30M OP tokens (worth 41M at the moment) to builders, creators, and educators who have supported the development and adoption of Optimism. Project registration for the program will open in the coming months and voting will take place in fall 2023.

Optimism is selling OP tokens worth 156M in a private sale
Optimism is selling 116M tokens (2.7% of total supply), currently worth around 156.6M, in a private sale split among seven purchasers, for treasury management purposes. These tokens comes from the unallocated portion of the token treasury and is part of the foundation’s original working budget of 30% of the initial token supply. The tokens are subject to a two-year lockup and during it, the purchasers will be able to delegate the tokens to unaffiliated third parties for participation in governance.

Earlier this week, Optimism announced an airdrop of 19.4M tokens to 31,870 addresses that participated in delegation activities of its DAO called the Optimism Collective. Current fully diluted valuation is 5.78B.
