GOLDEN INFORMATION:
ETF investors and speculative financial investors are retreating as a result of a stronger US Dollar and increasing bond yields. Yields on ten-year US Treasuries have reached their highest level since November 2022, standing at 4.2%. After deducting market-based inflation expectations, the real interest rate now surpasses 1.8%. The rise in real interest rates translates to higher opportunity costs for holding Gold, which doesn't yield any interest itself.
Gold ETFs tracked by Bloomberg have experienced significant outflows since July, with ETF investors withdrawing a total of 60 tons of Gold. Furthermore, there is cause for concern as speculative financial investors in Gold have also started selling recently.
