Trends break ranges so if they are tested, expect the range to be broken.
the range is defined by a "break level"
The closer price gets to a range's break level, the more likely it is to break... if trend is being tested/held.
When levels are being tested / held, expect price to continue to test levels to find a ladder point / break range in other direction.
