Kings Bulls & Bears Strategy – Alligator-Based Reversal Detection
Overview
The Bull and Bear Divergent Bars (BDB) indicator detects potential price reversals using the Williams Alligator moving averages combined with a Divergent Bar (DB) filter. It highlights possible bullish or bearish turning points on the price chart by analyzing price structure relative to trend lines.
How It Works
1. Alligator Indicator (Trend Context)
Uses Jaw (13), Teeth (8), and Lips (5) moving averages.
The moving average method is selectable: SMA, SMMA, EMA, RMA, WMA, VWMA.
The Alligator helps identify whether the market is in a trending (awake) or consolidating (sleeping) phase.
2. Divergent Bar Detection
Bullish Divergent Bar (Up DB):
Price remains below the Alligator lines
Price retests or makes a lower low
Candle closes above its midpoint (hl2)
Bearish Divergent Bar (Down DB):
Price remains above the Alligator lines
Price retests or makes a higher high
Candle closes below its midpoint (hl2)
3. Filtration Modes
The indicator includes three filtering levels to control signal quality:
No filter: Basic DB detection
Medium filter: Adds confirmation by checking prior lows/highs
High filter: Strict conditions requiring proper Alligator alignment
Chart Display
Bullish Divergent Bar: Green ▲ label below price bar
Bearish Divergent Bar: Red ▼ label above price bar
Alligator Lines: Jaw, Teeth, and Lips are plotted as trend references (optional color customization in settings)
How to Use
Use Alligator lines as a trend filter.
Focus on bullish DBs during uptrends and bearish DBs during downtrends.
Best suited for swing trading or filtered scalps where false signals must be minimized.
Avoid non-standard charts such as Heikin Ashi, Renko, Kagi, Point & Figure, or Range charts as these produce unrealistic signals and backtests.
