Chats and history in AI Copilot
AI Copilot keeps each conversation as a separate chat. You can start new chats, find past ones, and pick up a conversation where you left off — AI Copilot remembers the earlier messages in that chat. We keep your chat history for one year. If you have any important analysis, make sure to save a copy to your own storage.

Start or delete a chat
- To start fresh, open a new chat. Each chat is independent, so a new one won't carry over context from past conversations.
- To remove a chat you no longer need, delete it. Deleting a chat removes its history.
Find a past chat
Your previous chats are saved, so you can come back to them:
- Browse your recent chats in the chat list.
- Search your chats by keyword or topic to find a specific conversation.
Continue a previous conversation
Open any past chat and keep going. AI Copilot uses the earlier messages in that chat as context, so you can build on what you already asked without repeating yourself.
When AI Copilot asks you to clarify
Sometimes AI Copilot needs a bit more detail before it acts. Instead of guessing, it can pause and ask you a follow-up question right in the chat, usually with a few options to choose from. When that happens, you can:
- Pick one of the offered options — or several, when more than one is allowed.
- Type your own answer instead.
- Skip the question and let AI Copilot proceed.
Once you respond, AI Copilot continues the same request with your answer in mind.
One request at a time
Each chat handles one request at a time. If you send another message before the first one finishes — or send one from a second tab — the new request waits until the current one is done. This keeps a single conversation consistent.
Stop a response
You can stop a response while it's still being generated if you'd rather rephrase your question or head in a different direction.
