Getting started with AI Copilot

AI Copilot is an AI assistant built into TradingView. It lives in the side panel of your Supercharts, sees what's on your chart, and works directly with TradingView data — quotes, indicators, financials, news, earnings, economic calendars, and Screener data. It can both answer your questions and act on your chart. Every number in its answers is grounded in TradingView data, so its responses stay aligned with what you see.

How to get access

AI Copilot is available on every paid TradingView plan — Essential, Plus, Premium, and Ultimate — on the web and in the desktop app. Access comes through a separate add-on on top of your main plan. You use your existing TradingView account and plan to sign in — there's nothing separate to create.

Getting set up takes about a minute:

  1. Open any chart on http://tradingview.com or in the desktop app.
  2. Click the AI Copilot icon in the right-hand panel.
  3. Click Get access to go to checkout.
  4. Access is granted right after payment — type your first question or pick one of the suggested prompts.

A few things worth knowing:

  • The add-on renews monthly, and you can cancel it anytime in your profile settings.
  • It includes a monthly usage limit that most people won't reach, and unused usage doesn't carry over.
  • AI Copilot isn't available in the mobile apps yet.

Ten prompts to try first

Open a chart, click the AI Copilot icon, and try one of these on the symbol you're looking at:

  • What can you do?
  • Add EMA 50 and EMA 200, RSI 14, and MACD on the chart.
  • Draw horizontal support and resistance levels on the daily timeframe.
  • Set an alert if price crosses above X.
  • What's the sentiment?
  • Run a full technical analysis.
  • Give me a complete breakdown: technicals, fundamentals, recent news, sentiment, and macro context — bring it all together.
  • When were the last earnings and what were the results?
  • Create a watchlist "AI and Semiconductors" with NVDA, AMD, TSM, ASML, AVGO, and SMCI.
  • Find S&P 500 stocks with P/E below 15 and revenue growth above 10%.

What AI Copilot can do

Set up your chart by describing it

Layouts, symbols, timeframes, indicators, visible range, and theme — one message instead of a dozen clicks.

  • Add EMA 50 and EMA 200 on the chart, RSI 14 and MACD with default settings.
  • Show me the period around the Q4 2023 earnings report.
  • Look at my current indicator setup — what would you remove?

Mark up the chart

Support and resistance, chart patterns, and market structure — drawn directly on your chart, with an explanation of what each one implies.

  • Draw horizontal support and resistance levels on the daily timeframe.
  • Find and mark up any reversal or continuation patterns on this chart.
  • Mark the order blocks, fair value gaps, and the last BOS/CHoCH on the 4H.

Run a full technical analysis

Trend across timeframes, key levels, RSI divergences, and moving-average signals — plus the option to draw the levels or set alerts on them.

  • Run a full technical analysis on TSLA.

Check the fundamentals

Revenue and margin dynamics, P/E versus the sector, debt load, free cash flow, and analyst estimates.

  • What's the trend in the fundamentals for this symbol?

Read the news, sentiment, and macro context

What's in the headlines, where analysts stand, which macro factors matter, and what's coming up.

  • What's the current sentiment on this symbol based on news and analyst ratings?
  • What macro factors are affecting JPM?
  • What important events, including macro, are coming up for AAPL in the next two weeks?

Bring it all together

A single picture across technicals, fundamentals, news, and macro — a scenario for the next month or a structured plan.

  • Give me a complete breakdown of MSFT: technicals, fundamentals, recent news, sentiment, and macro context.
  • Build a trading plan for AMD: entry, stop, targets, position size at 1% risk, and what would invalidate the idea.

Find opportunities

Natural-language screening across stocks, crypto, ETFs, and bonds, plus open-ended idea search.

  • Find S&P 500 stocks with P/E below 15, revenue growth above 10% YoY, dividend yield above 2%, and RSI below 40.
  • Give me a few interesting trade ideas for this week across different sectors.

Write Pine Script and analyze backtests

Indicators and strategies are generated and applied to your chart right away — no Pine knowledge required.

  • Write a Pine indicator that plots the difference between EMA 20 and EMA 50 as a histogram and changes color when the sign flips.
  • Break down the backtest results: profit factor, max drawdown, win rate, average per trade — is this strategy viable?

Manage watchlists and alerts

Create and manage watchlists, and set alerts for the levels that matter to you.

  • Create a watchlist "AI and Semiconductors" with NVDA, AMD, TSM, ASML, AVGO, and SMCI.
  • Alert me when RSI on any symbol in my "AI and Semiconductors" watchlist drops below 30 on the hourly.
  • Show my active alerts on AMD and move the breakout level to 185.

What AI Copilot can work with

Under the hood, AI Copilot can act across most of the platform. You can ask it, in plain language, to:

  • Charts and layouts: Change the symbol, timeframe, or chart type; set multi-chart layouts; compare symbols; adjust the visible range and zoom; save, load, or screenshot a chart; switch theme.
  • Drawings: Draw trendlines, levels, and shapes; mark patterns and Fibonacci; edit, lock, or hide drawings.
  • Indicators: Add or remove indicators, read their current values, and change their settings.
  • Technical analysis: Trend across timeframes, key levels, RSI divergences, and moving-average signals.
  • Pine Script: Write, check, apply, edit, and save scripts, browse your versions, and search community scripts.
  • Strategies and backtests: Read strategy reports, trades, and equity, change inputs, and sweep parameters.
  • Alerts: Create single and multi-condition alerts, list, update, stop, restart, or delete them.
  • Watchlists: Create, rename, and delete watchlists, add or remove symbols, and flag symbols by color.
  • Screeners: Scan stocks, crypto, ETFs, forex, and bonds in natural language, and reuse saved screeners.
  • Financials and calendars: Company financials, the earnings calendar, and the economic calendar.
  • Symbols, quotes, and macro: Search symbols, get quotes, and pull country macro data.
  • News: Headlines and full stories for a symbol.

What AI Copilot can't do

AI Copilot is an assistant, not an advisor. Keep these limits in mind:

  • It doesn't give financial or investment advice, and it won't tell you what to buy or sell.
  • It can be wrong or use outdated information, so check important numbers and facts yourself before you act.
  • It doesn't promise or guarantee any outcome, profit, or return.
  • It works with the context it has, such as your messages and your active chart.
  • It isn't available in the mobile apps yet.
  • It handles one request at a time in a chat, so a new question waits until the current one finishes.

Get better answers

A few habits help AI Copilot help you:

  • Be specific and include the ticker (if it isn't already open) and the timeframe you mean.
  • Add the ticker with a dollar sign, like $BTCUSD.
  • Start with simple prompts and gradually add complexity if the answer isn't what you expect.
  • Give as much context as you can. Describe your trading profile, preferences, and strategy. You only need to do this once per chat.
  • Double-check any figure or fact before you make a decision.
  • If you get stuck, just ask — try "What can you do?" or "How to…?"

Rate and report answers

Your feedback helps improve AI Copilot:

  • Rate any answer with a thumbs up or thumbs down, and add a short reason if you'd like.
  • If an answer looks wrong or unhelpful, report it — your rating and that answer go to our team to review.
  • The feedback option stays available even if you've reached your monthly usage limit.

Important: AI Copilot gives you information and assistance — it isn't financial advice, and it can make mistakes. You stay in control of your own decisions.
